Youth Athletic Development
(Run & Jump with Coach Reny)
We help youth athletes in the Bay Area develop physically, mentally, and socially through track & field in a long term athletic development framework. Improve running form, sprint technique, explosive movement, stamina, coordination, agility, speed, athletic performance!
Bay Area Locations: Mountain View, Cupertino

Jing “Reny” Ren is head coach at Born to Run CA Track Club. She has 15+ years of track & field experience, specializing in sprints and long jump. Reny trained with the Chinese National Team and is a former professional long jump athlete. She placed 5th in the U20 Chinese National Track and Field Competition in 2017 and 3rd in the Chinese National Regional Indoor Track and Field Competition in 2018, both in long jump. Her personal best long jump mark is 6.18m (20′ 3″).
Reny came to the US in 2019 after being recruited by Tulane University with a full-ride ($320k) athletic scholarship. She was one of the first Chinese-born female track athletes to receive a full-ride scholarship to a NCAA Division 1 school. Reny suffered a potentially career-ending Achilles tendon tear in her first year of collegiate competition, but would go on to earn American Athletic Conference Academic Honors and rank 2nd all time in school history for long jump.
After graduating, Reny met the love of her life and moved to California, where her passion for track & field inspired her to start Born to Run CA Track Club. Reny wishes to pass on her expertise and inspire the next generation of athletes here in the Bay Area!
Coach Reny’s training sessions focus on sprinting fundamentals and long-term development of athletic performance. She utilizes her experience as an elite professional athlete to provide optimal individually-tailored training programs. Coach Reny is always seeking to improve her knowledge: she frequently discusses training strategies with her mentor Randy Huntington (former Chinese National Team Head Coach), and is currently studying to become a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Born to Run CA Track Club is a 501(c)3 non-profit, founded in 2023 to support youth athletic development in the Bay Area. All proceeds from class fees go toward promoting youth athlete development along with paying cost-of-living adjusted salaries for coaches, club maintenance, facilities fees, and future planned track meets and other events.
